Memo From Jennifer Touzel, Cabinet Secretary, To District 201N5 Lions, Lioness and Leo Clubs and Cabinet Members, December 20, 2014
It’s the Festive Season and I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family all the best for the holiday season and for a healthy and happy New Year.
Regulatory Compliance A12 Form
The Public Officer has the important role of ensuring your club is compliant with the regulations under the Department of Fair Trading through the lodgement of an Annual Return. I remind clubs you only have until December 31, 2014 to lodge your A12 Form, otherwise you need to lodge a form for an extension. A number of clubs have been late with their lodgements for the past few years. There are significant fines and late payment fees for late returns. The role of the Public Officer is summarized in the fact sheet at www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au

Lions Figures On The Rise In 201N5
Lions figures are on the way up for the first half of the Lions year, with a few new clubs being formed and some Lions Clubs attracting new members, I’m pleased to advise we are “strengthening the pride”. As at the July 1, 2014 we started with 1,666 members and now we have 1,711 members. On 15 December, a new Sydney Indian Lions Club was formed. Charter application is currently in progress. DG Anthony has appointed Lion Ken Button (Lugarno) as Deputy GMT-D Coordinator to assist in the increasing workload of the District GMT team. Remember it’s December, and all Secretaries should be checking that membership details are correct on LCI. I have had a few “Lion Magazines” returned, so please remember to update information regularly, as some of our members are missing out on information. If you are a President, Secretary or Treasurer and don’t have a logon to LCI please contact me asap and I will assist you with the process. A reminder that LCI and District invoices are based on
membership numbers as at 31st December, 2014 and will be issued in January, 2015. Therefore, if you have had a decrease in membership and it has not been recorded, your account will be based on the higher number and unfortunately must be paid, as adjustments are not permissible.
Request From Nurse Unit Manager At Cumberland Hospital
The purpose of their correspondence is to invite us to provide some donation/sponsorship for their sensory project. The project involves a variety of tactile and visual objects that aid in the comfort of their patients with mental health illness. These aids provide comforting stimulus, which facilitates a coping mechanism for patients in distress. The age band of patients they provide mental health care ranging from 15 to 60 years. As a government provider hospital, these sorts of projects are not funded with government money, therefore they rely heavily on kind donations/good will of companies within the community. The examples of objects/items they would like to purchase/donation include: soft objects (stress ball), aroma therapy items, board games, visual material/tranquil items, music MP3 player, IPODs, cordless headphones, etc. Although they need to be mindful regarding the items patients use which could pose risk of self harm, eg no cords, chemicals, naked flames, etc. For further details contact the Cabinet Secretary.
